Funny Pranksters with Letters

Tsveta Brestnichka is among the most popular and beloved contemporary children’s writers in Bulgaria. Generations of children have grown up with her rhymed tales from her series The Magic Forest, and her A to Z: Wacky Stories with the Alphabet inspires young readers to discover the fun and beauty of their native language. She is a passionate and affectionate narrator of stories both real and invented, inspired by her experiences with her four children, her growing grandchildren, and her backpacking around the world.

Tsveta takes to heart the situation of children in our country: she has been active in the Parents Association for more than 15 years. For two years in a row she was the program director of the Sofia International Literary Festival for Children and Young People, and she has launched the initiative “A child is waiting for magic. Become a wizard – give them a book,” which has enabled thousands of donors to send books to underprivileged children across the country for three consecutive years.
